Workshop

Alongside the screenings of the film, Emilio Rojas has facilitated anti-oppresion and anti-descrimination workshops with students and youth, to continue the conversation around issues of Racism, and Homophobia. To further the understanding on Dimensions of Power, Systemic Oppresions, Active Witnessing, and Intersectionality. The workshops utilizes the film as a starting point for participants to tell their own personal narratives and stories of discrimination. The workshops have lasted from 3 to 6 hours, and have happened at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, and Asheville and Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.

This workshops are based on the work that Emilio has done with Queer Migrant and Refugee Youth, through Qmmunity, Roots to Routes, Citizen U, and the Queer Migration Collective in Vancouver.
